The whole world knew Star Jones was leaving ‘The View’, but not until later this summer. Yesterday, Star announced that she was leaving the show effective immediately.

Today, Barbara Walters said that she felt betrayed by Star’s sudden departure. In addition, she added that Star had known for months that her contract was not being renewed and that ABC and herself had decided not to make the reasons public in order to ‘protect Star’.

Walters said, “We hoped that she would announce it here on the program and leave with dignity, but Star made another choice.”

Gee, I guess the gloves are off now!

Later, Joy passes a note to Meredith Viera asking her to cut off Star. Next, Joy starts talking in order to get Star off the phone and Star calls her ‘a bitch’.
